Artist Statement -
My project is inspired by a mixture of horror and cute game design such as games like Animal Crossing, Little Misfortune, and Night in The Woods. I more or less just happened upon the white character models in my AI generating process, and decided to adhere more closely to that as I went on.
This project for me was super fun for me and is something I have great interest in. While I don't plan on using AI art again for my work, I definitely am interested in continuing using the glitching techniques used in our project to glitch more of my artwork. I think my favorite technique was probably the artificial glitch, because while it was still unpredictable in some ways, I have a lot more control about how they look and putting them all into a gif feels really satisfying to me. I also really enjoyed using pixel sorting because I enjoy the sand-like quality of the glitch, but for me, the results were very mixed in the outcome. Out of all my pieces I think my two favorites are the flower and the top glitch gif. The flower really turned out to be a happy accident in audacity, because the background was black, it ended up looking like the color of the flower was blowing away in the wind which I think looks super cool. Out of all my gifs I like the first one the most because I combined pixel sorting and artificial glitch and I think it made the outcome look much more spooky especially with the effects that I used.
Overall a very fun project, and I think that while I don't have interest in continuing AI art, I think I can have an appreciation for its uses and can see how it can be a productive form of media especially for the infinite loops.
